Aim: To explain the principles of safe and effective sedation

Objectives:

• Describe patient assessment and treatment planning
• Describe the use of basic sedation techniques including the administration of sedation drug(s), monitoring, recovery & discharge
• Describe the management of sedation-related complications

Development outcomes: A, B, C, D and can contribute to the requirements of the IACSD Standards

Learning content: Online lectures and Q & A sessions

CPD: Six hours of sedation CPD
